Big deer thrive on the high-protein brush native to an area known as the Golden Triangle. This area is famous for the quality and quantity of record book whitetail grown in North America.

Ghost Apache is in a class of its own even in South Texas, with a majority of the ranch consisting of old native brush and considered “unimproved”, in cattle production terminology. The land provides a diverse high-protein diet exceeding 20% in the winter and summer seasons. This native year-round high-protein forage is why South Texas is famous for big-antlered deer.
